These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the CMU Portugal Academy website at academy.cmuportugal.org (“Website”). By accessing or using the Website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Website.
These Terms do not govern enrolment in or participation in CMU Portugal Academy programs — those relationships are governed by separate program-specific terms provided at the time of application or enrolment.
1. Who we are
The Website is operated by ADIST — Associação para o Desenvolvimento do Instituto Superior Técnico, NIPC 501 804 625, under the CMU Portugal Academy brand.

2. What you can do on the Website
You may: - Browse program information and download program brochures by submitting your email and country - Subscribe to receive marketing communications (with your consent) - Click through to the Santander Open Academy platform to submit a program application
You may not: - Use the Website for any unlawful purpose - Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems - Scrape, harvest, or systematically collect content from the Website - Use the Website to send spam, malware, or other harmful content - Impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation with any organization - Use the Website in any way that could disable, overburden, damage, or impair it
3. Intellectual property
All content on the Website — including text, logos, brand marks, photographs, videos, course descriptions, brochures, and the underlying design — is the property of ADIST, Carnegie Mellon University, partner institutions, or licensors, and is protected by Portuguese and international intellectual property law.
You may view and download brochures for your personal, non-commercial use. You may not reproduce, republish, modify, sell, or distribute any content without our prior written permission.
The names “CMU Portugal Academy,” “Carnegie Mellon University,” and associated logos are trademarks of their respective owners and may not be used without permission.
4. Brochures and program information
We make reasonable efforts to keep program information accurate and up to date. However, programs, schedules, faculty, prices, and other details are subject to change without notice. The brochures and Website content are informational and do not constitute a binding offer. Binding terms apply only once you have completed enrolment.
Tuition fees are stated in Euros (€) and may be revised. The current applicable fee will be confirmed at enrolment.
5. Third-party links
The Website contains links to third-party sites, including the Santander Open Academy application platform. We do not control these sites and are not responsible for their content, privacy practices, or services. Your use of those sites is at your own risk and subject to their own terms.
6. Disclaimers
The Website is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Website will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or virus-free.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ADIST, its employees, partners, and contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Website. Our total liability for any direct claim arising from these Terms will not exceed €100.
These limitations do not apply where prohibited by law, including in relation to fraud, gross negligence, or personal injury.

9. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be published on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Website after a change constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Portugal. Any dispute will be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lisbon, Portugal, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections of the country where you reside.
